The Lightweight Mens Four won its final by 0.14 seconds over the Netherlands. The crew includes Robin Prendes, Will Newell and Anthony Fahden. The U.S. took the lead in the third quarter of the race and hung on for the victory. The Netherlands held on to grab the second qualifying spot.
Campbell and Will Daly finished third in 6:29.7 in the lightweight mens double sculls final. Hungary won in 6:26.75, and Australia was second in 6:28.21. Campbell and Daly were in second place through most of the race before Australias Roderick Chisholm and Thomas Gibson, both returning Beijing Olympians, passed them late in the race.
