UConn Football Game Awaits Re-Scheduling

The University of Connecticut's home football opener scheduled for Thursday against Fordham was postponed Tuesday. As of Wednesday at noon, the game had not been re-scheduled. UConn officials said they were hopeful the game would be played Saturday.

UConn's home field, Rentschler Field, is currently being used by the Connecticut National Guard for use as a commodities distribution center to assist communities in need of supplies in the wake of Tropical Storm Irene. The Huskies are playing their first season under new coach Paul Pasqualoni. Visit the team's Website, UConnHuskies.com, for more information.
