Trinity Catholic Recruits 6-foot-7 NYC Junior

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Trinity Catholic's defense of its Class M state boys basketball title just got a little more interesting. Jason Boswell of New York City will transfer to Trinity for his junior year, according to multiple published reports.

The 6-foot-7 forward played for St. Patrick's of Elizabeth (N.J.), one of the top-ranked high school basketball programs in the country. Boswell arrives with a boatload of expectations. Reports say he already has been offered scholarships by Division I colleges such as Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Seton Hall, Virginia Tech, Cincinnati, Houston, Iowa State and Hosftra. He is currently playing summer basketball for the Long Island Lightning, an AAU program.

Boswell will join head coach Mike Walsh and a defending state champion team already stocked with ability. The biggest question for the Crusaders might be where to fit Boswell in, since the team lost just one player to graduation in Jonathan Boykin. Trinity will have a host of talent to choose from when the regular season arrives in December, including guards Schadrac Casimir and Brandon Wheeler and 7-foot-1 sophomore phenom Chukwu Pascal Chidiebere.

While the 2011-12 basketball season is still almost six months away, the acquisition of Boswell puts Trinity up as the early favorite in the FCIAC and as one of the best teams in the state.

What do you think of the acquisition of Boswell? Do you think it makes Trinity the team to beat in the FCIAC and the state? Start the discussion below!
