Top Seeds Set for Youth Football Playoffs

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – Two teams from New Canaan and Wilton have earned top seeds for the Fairfield County Football League playoffs, which begin this weekend.

Teams from Darien and Fairfield are also among the top seeds in the league for players in grades 3-8.

The most competitive bracket could be in the eighth grade league, where four teams finished with just one loss. New Canaan Red is seeded No. 1 with a 7-1 record. Darien White is seeded No. 2  with a 6-1 record. New Canaan Black is seeded No. 3 with a 6-1-1 record. Norwalk is seeded fourth with a 5-1-1 record.

In the seventh grade league, Darien earned the top seed while Darien White is seeded No. 2. Both teams finished 8-0. Ridgefield Orange is seeded third and New Canaan Black is seeded fourth, each with 6-2 records.

The sixth grade tournament also appears wide open as four teams finished with one loss. Fairfield Red finished 7-1 to take the top seed. Wilton Black is seeded second with a 6-1 record, and Wilton Blue is third, also at 6-1. Darien Blue is seeded fourth with a 6-1 record.

New Canaan Red (8-0) is seeded first for fifth grade teams. Wilton Black and Wilton Blue, both of whom finished with 7-1 records, are the next two seeds. The Darien Wave (5-3) are seeded fourth.

Wilton Blue is top seed in the fourth grade followed by Wilton White. Both teams are 8-0. New Canaan Red (6-1) and Ridgefield Black (6-1-1) are the net two seeds.

Wilton Blue (6-1) and Wilton White (5-1-1) are the top two seeds in the third grade, followed by New Canaan Black and Darien Blue.
