Teams Square Off for Titles in Hoops League

The Fairfield County Basketball League wraps up its season with championship games scheduled at various sites. Teams from every Main Street Connect community will have teams playing in championship games Saturday and Sunday.

Among the key games Saturday are the sixth-grade A Division girls championship, where Wilton will meet Norwalk at Ridgefield High School at 4:30 p.m. Teams from Greenwich, Westport and Fairfield will be playing earlier in the day. Also tomorrow at Darien High School, the sixth-grade boys championships will be played. At 3 p.m., the title game will feature New Canaan Black against the winner of Friday's game between Carver Center of Norwalk and Westport PAL. Other teams from Westport, Stamford and Norwalk Biddy will play earlier in the day.

The seventh-grade boys basketball championships will be played at Greens Farms Academy on Saturday. Darien YMCA plays Danbury PAL Blue for the A Division championship at 5:45. Teams from Fairfield, Easton and the Norwalk Biddy League will also be in action at GFA.

On Sunday, Saxe Middle School in New Canaan will host the fifth-grade boys championship. Stamford meets Westport PAL at 3 p.m. and Darien YMCA meets Mt. Vernon at 4:25. There are six championship games Sunday at Weston High School, including the A Division championship at 5 p.m. between Shehan Center of Bridgeport and the Greenwich Flame. Teams from Westport, Wilton and Stamford will also be playing in title games. At Danbury, the Wilton eighth-grade girls meet New Milford in the title game of the A Division at 4 p.m.
