FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. - First it was the conference playoffs and now the entirety of the state tournament schedule has been moved back, according to the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference. Every fall sport in Class LL, Class L, Class M and Class S will start and end a little later than usual.
The girls and boys soccer, field hockey and girls volleyball tournaments will all start on either Nov. 10 or 11. As a result, the finals will also be pushed back.
The field hockey and girls volleyball championships will be played the weekend of Nov. 18 and 19. The girls and boys soccer championships will be pushed back even further to Nov. 25 and 26. Girls swimming has yet to be announced.
Connecticut teams now have until Tuesday to complete their regular seasons, but Fairfield County teams have already completed their regular season slates. The CIAC did not schedule any games in the three days before Thanksgiving.
