STAMFORD, Conn. The Connecticut Olympic Weightlifting Championships come to Blue Streak Sports Training in Stamford Sunday beginning at 10 a.m. The meet is sponsored by Wilton-based Team Connecticut Olympic Weightlifting Club, run by Stamford native Gary Valentine.
Men and women will compete in a variety of weight classes and age divisions. This will be the third year Blue Streak has hosted the event, which started in Torrington in 1970. The meet is run by Valentine, a resident of Wilton and a 17-time Connecticut champion.
