Sports Executives Reach Out to Students

If your teenager is considering a career in the sports industry, Diamond Sports is offering an opportunity to learn more about the industry. The Rye Brook, N.Y.-based organization announced plans for the inaugural Diamond Sports Big Apple Career Week, July 25-30 in New York.

The Diamond Sports Big Apple Career Week offers students an opportunity to meet and learn from sports executives and rising stars leading their fields. They will meet at many of the most famous sports venues in the world, including Yankee Stadium, Citi Field, Madison Square Garden, Red Bull Arena, and MLB Studios. Events will also be offered at Chelsea Piers, the Yogi Berra Museum & Learning Center, Fordham University and NYU. Featured speakers scheduled to appear include Ross Greenburg, President of HBO Sports; Bill Squadron, General Manager of Bloomberg Sports; Chris LaPlaca, Senior Vice President of Communications at ESPN; Doug Perlman, CEO of Sports Media Advisors, Vanessa Adams, President, Women in Sports, New York Chapter; Rick Cerrone, media consultant, and former Senior Director of Media Relations for the New York Yankees; Brian Crowell, NBC PGA golf analyst and club pro; Chris Carlin, SNY sports media personality, Ryan Ruocco, ESPN Radio 1050, and Art Berke, Diamond Sports, former VP of Communications at Sports Illustrated. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Miracle League and the Yogi Berra Museum & Learning Center.
