If youre still looking for activities for your child during school vacation week, here are some options. There are lacrosse camps in Norwalk, sports camps in Westport and baseball and softball instruction at a variety of venues.
Brien McMahon High School will host the Holiday Boys Lacrosse camp Monday through Wednesday. There are different times for different age groups. The camp will provide individual instruction in fundamentals of lacrosse. Current and former Norwalk and Brien McMahon players will conduct the clinics. Peak Performance Sports Camps will be held at Long Lots Elementary School in Westport for children ages 4-12. There are half-day, full-day and three-day plans. Bobby Valentine Sports Academy in Stamford and The Clubhouse in Fairfield are conducting baseball clinics. There are also batting cages, such as The Batters Box in Norwalk. The Clubhouse in Fairfield and Integrated Sports Training are also good resources to help prepare children for the upcoming baseball and softball seasons.
There might also be spots available in a basketball camp in Fairfield. Former NBA player Frank Oleynick will conduct clinics at St. Thomas Aquinas School and at Notre Dame High School. Visit the We Are Future Stars website for more information.
There are also open skating opportunities at area rinks, including Terry Conners in Stamford, Dorothy Hamill in Greenwich and Darien Ice Rink.
