Sonics Bounce Back to Beat Wilton

The NJSA Sonics U-11 Girls Soccer team rebounded from last week's loss by beating Wilton 1 -0 on Sunday.

The winning goal was scored early in the second half by Seena Panagiotidis assisted by Lindsay McEwan. McEwan executed a perfect chip over the Wilton defense onto her teammate's foot for the goal.

The Sonics kept the pressure on Wilton's keeper with several shots on goal from midfielders Yahaira Novoa, Arianna Marotta, and Meredith Pellegrino.

The Sonics shutout was shared by keepers, Sami Ruess and Amanda Barker. Defenders Nazae Craw, Katie Wardle, Christy Russo and Natalie Cronin held Wilton scoreless. Defender Natalie Cronin was awarded MVP for her exceptional performance in defense and blocking a potential equalizer very late in the game. Hannah Froelich and Kathleen McElaney also contributed to the win.
