Snow Could Stop Fairfield County Run

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – The snowstorm expected Saturday could force the postponement of Sunday’s Boston Buildup 15-kilometer run. The second race in the four-race series is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. at Scotland Elementary School in Ridgefield.

Race director Jim Gerweck said a race update will be made sometime Saturday. Information will be posted on clubct.org and emails will be sent to runners who have already registered. There are more than 300 runners registered for Sunday’s race.

The series got off to a record-breaking start with the 10-kilometer run at Brien McMahon High School. A record of 418 runners finished the race. Eric McKnight, of Newtown, and Anja Krieger-Redwood, of Greenwich, won the men’s and women’s divisions in the 10k.

The series also includes a 20k run scheduled for Feb. 12 in Southport and a 25k run on March 4 in Norwalk.
