National Lione of Stamford defeated Ridgefield National, 21-7, Wednesday night to finish undefeated in pool play of the District 1 9-10-year-old Little League Tournament. Lione finished 6-0 in pool B and will play North Stamford in the semifinals Friday at Scalzi Park at 7:30 p.m.
Darien American, which won pool B with a 5-1 record, will play Wilton in other semifinal at 5:30 p.m. Fridays winners advance to the championship game Sunday at 7 p.m. at Springdale. The district winner advances to the state championship, which will be played July 24-27 at Springdale.
Darien American concluded pool play with an 11-1 win over Rowayton. North Stamford stopped Darien National, 15-1, and also finished with a 5-1 record in pool play. Wilton locked up a berth in the semifinals with a 5-2 win over Weston, and also finished 5-1 in pool play.
In other 9-10-year-old games Wednesday night, Norwalk defeated Ridgefield American, 6-0, and Stamford American defeated Stamford Northrop, 15-2.
