Second Round Action Heats Up at Open

Brian Murphy of Wilton continues to stay in the hunt to finish in the top 10 of the 76th Connecticut Open. Murphy shot a 72 in the second round of the tournament to finish the day at one-under-par, good for a share of sixth place.  

Even before noon on Tuesday, however, the Open became a race for second place. Kyle Gallo of Simsbury shot a brilliant six-under-par (64) in the morning round to take a commanding five-stroke lead in the tournament. Gallo finished the day at 11-under for the two days of play (129). Former tennis champion Ivan Lendl just made the cut for the final round finishing at six-over-par (146).
