FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. Saugatuck Rowing Club won one race and picked up six silver medals last weekend at the Head of the Riverfront Regatta in Hartford. The meet ended the fall season for high school rowers.
Saugatuck won the Junior Varsity 8+ with Westports Alison Morrison, Maya Schumer, Allie Schachter, Blythe Lewis and Alexandra Manning; Fairfields Lily Powers and Marissa Horn; Joel Barlow student Christina Johnson; and Greens Farms Academy student Genevieve Esse.
The Girls Varsity 8+ grabbed second as well with Westports Louisa Freeman, Anna Petterson, Alison Morrison and Maya Schumer; Fairfields Sam Powers and Connor Cashel; Joel Barlows Christina Johnson; and Westons Jo Gurman and Allie Diamond.
Gurman and Cashel took second in the Girls 2x. The Girls Novice 8+ took a silver with Westports Julia Onorato and Kendall Vogt; Fairfields Annie Eick and Erika Zadravec; Dariens Felicity Cain and Adena Coste; Kate Rubin, Jillian Baum and Kaitlyn McCann.
The Boys Junior Varsity 8+ took second with Westports Clay Andrews, John Andrews and Jansen Van Arsdale; Wiltons Michael Smallwood; Robert Bottone, of New Canaan; Fairfields Andrew Bruggerman; coxswain Rebecca Joseph and Andrew Senasac.
The Boys Novice 8+ finished second with Westports John Hunter, Warren Schoor and Ian Grimes; Wiltons Matthew Zaluca; Joel Barlows Theodoros Aris and Connor OBrien; Nick Balderson, of New Canaan; Jack Carlson and Lucas Manning.
