WESTPORT, Conn. — Westport's Saugatuck Rowing Club Juniors produced solid results at last weekend's Head of the Charles Regatta.

The Head of the Charles is one of the world's largest regattas, with competitions for youth, college and masters rowers.

In the Women's Youth Double event, Saugatuck's Rosie Grinalds and Alex Zadravec placed second behind Switzerland's Lausanne Sports-Aviron in 19 minutes and 26 seconds. The margin between the two boats was only 9.8 seconds.

In the Men's Youth Double, Saugatuck's Max Gibson and Marco Grant placed ninth out of 40 boats. The winner was the Rhode Island Narragansett Boat Club.

In the Men's Youth Eight, Saugatuck's Greg Zales, Jake Esse, Jake Petterson, Chris Babinec, Duncan Campbell, John Morrison, Cameron Yates, Jeff Monahan and William Ritter placed 13th out of 75 boats. The winner was California's Marin Rowing Association.
