Local runners are hoping the weather cooperates for one of the area's oldest and most unique races tonight. The 38th annual 2 Man 6 Mile Relay will step off at 7 p.m. at Waveny Park in New Canaan after last Tuesday's thunderstorms caused a one-week postponement.
The event, part of the Summer Cross Country Series, teams pairs of runners who each cover three alternate one-mile loops around the fields and trails of the park. Prize T-shirts are awarded in to the top male, female and coed teams in several divisions based on the combined total of the runners' ages.
Registration for the race begins at 6 p.m. in the soccer fields near the dog park. The new rain date for the event is this Thursday. Further information is available on the race website.
