The Norwalk 12U Riptide rolled to a 5-1 win over Milford this past Saturday in Milford. Alyssa Brown, Julia Hall and Amy Hurd combined to throw a three-hitter to keep Milford at bay.
The Riptide struck first in the top of the third. Erin Frederick reached base with a walk and was moved over on a fielders choice by Julia Hall. Allison Hall laced a single to left to plate Frederick. A single by Amy Hurd put two runners on base for Becky Stefanatos, who belted a triple plating the two runs. Mallory Rochefort followed with a single plating Stefanatos. Milford would score one in the bottom half of the frame making the score 4-1 after 3.
The Riptide would add one more in the top of the sixth on a single by Ryan Lajoie. She would steal second and reach third on a wild pitch. Erin Frederick drove Lajoie in with a single and finish the scoring. The Riptide are back in action on Sunday when they host Southbury.
