Record Field Runs In Final Boston Buildup Race

NORWALK, Conn. – Daniel Schlich of West Point, N.Y., and Tina Senft-Batoh of Stamford paced a record field Sunday in the Boston Buildup 25-kilometer race in Norwalk.

Schlich, 20, won the race in 1:27:27, while Senft-Batoh, 29, paced the women’s field in 1:46:24. There were 258 finishers in the race, which eclipsed the previous record of 252 set last year. The hilly 15.6-mile race started and finished at Silvermine School in Norwalk.

Tim Milenkevich, who coaches running at Targetraining in Westport, finished second and was the series overall series winner. Shana Decsi of Darien was the overall winner for the series in the women’s division.
