Ravens Face Key Contest

The Norwalk Ravens meet Bridgeport Saturday at 7 p.m. at Norwalk High School in a key game in the Candlewood Valley Football League. The winner will qualify for the youth league playoffs, while the loser will be eliminated. Both fifth-grade squads are 4-2, part of a four-way logjam for second place in the CVL East Division.

Seven teams from the Norwalk Youth Football League will have home games this weekend. In addition to the Ravens, the fourth-grade Dolphins play Bridgeport Saturday at 5 p.m. at Norwalk High. Also on Saturday, the fifth-grade Jaguars play Ridgefield at Andrews Field at noon, followed at 2 by the Raiders against Bridgeport.

On Sunday, the sixth-grade Bucs meet Aspetuck at 10 a.m. The Packers play Bridgeport at noon, and the seventh-grade Panthers meet Bridgeport at 2. All three games are at Brien McMahon. The Panthers suffered their first loss, a 14-6 setback to Newtown. Bridgeport's seventh grade squad brings a 6-0 record into the contest.
