Norwalk Grassroots Tennis will hold a kickoff cocktail party tonight at 7 at the Country Club of Darien on Mansfield Lane. There will also be live and silent auctions as a lead-in to a weekend doubles tournament featuring nearly 200 players.
Norwalk Grassroots Tennis helps improve children's skills on the court and also works to develop them as individuals. The program began in 1995 and operates on tennis courts at the two largest properties of the Norwalk Housing Authority. Over 400 children have participated in the past two years. The free program includes equipment, competitions and occasional trips. Find out more about the organization here.
