The Norwalk under-13 Stingrays reached the championship game of the Westport Invitational Tournament on Saturday before falling to Simmons of Suffield, 3-2.
Norwalk advanced with a pair of victories, defeated Weston in penalty kicks, and Westport Blue, 4-2. In the championship game, Norwalk fell behind early before scoring a pair goals within a minute. The teams played evenly until late in the contest when Simmons scored the game-winner in the 25-minute, 6-on-6 contest. The Stingrays play out of the Norwalk Junior Soccer Association.
