Norwalk and Rowayton won in the first round of the District 1 Little League Tournament of Champions Wednesday night to set up a semifinal meeting. Weather permitting, the semifinal showdown will be played at 5:45 p.m. Thursday at Bailey Beach in Rowayton.
Wilton also won, while Weston fell to Ridgefield National. Stamford American and Stamford Federal won in the Stamford Tournament of Champions.
Norwalk defeated Redding, 8-2, while Rowayton edged Darien National, 3-1. Wilton took out Ridgefield American, 10-2, and Ridgefield National eliminated Weston, 6-3.
Wilton meets Ridgefield National in the other semifinal Thursday at 5:45 p.m. at Wilton's Bill Terry Field. Thursday's winners advance to the championship game Sunday at 2 p.m. at a site to be determined.
In Stamford, Stamford American will meet National Lione at Scalzi Park at 5:45 on Thursday, while Springdale will travel to Frank Noto Field to meet Federal. As of 3:45 p.m., all of the games were still scheduled to be played.
