Asiah Knight scored a game-high 10 points, but it was not enough as the Norwalk GBA sixth grade girls basketball team surrendered a fourth quarter lead to Darien YMCA. Norwalk got into foul trouble in the final frame of the contest, allowing Darien to creep back into the game from the free throw line. Darien scored 10 points in the fourth quarter for a 19-17 comeback victory, while handing Norwalk its first league loss.
Norwalk played great defense throughout the game, holding Darien to its lowest point total of the season. Norwalk could not convert on their own shots, however, and drew only one foul that led to free throws.
Aside from Knight, Amanda Rebecca and Brianna Brown contributed from the field with three and two points respectively. Darien's Sammy Aparicio led the comeback against Norwalk with seven points. Leigh Harrison scored the tying and go-ahead free throws with just under a minute to play.
Norwalk falls to 3-1, while Darien remains undefeated in league play at 4-0.
