Teams from the New Canaan/Maritime Rowing Club crew team had strong performances at the Greenwich Invitational Saturday, winning the 4x varsity final in the boys and girls divisions.
The boys won their race in 2:28.5, about eight seconds ahead of runner-up Saugatuck. The girls won in 2:47.2, about 10 seconds ahead of Pelham Community Rowing Association. In both races, New Canaan/Maritime teams came in with the fastest times from the earlier heats.
The Norwalk-based team also won the boys lightweight 8+, finishing about four seconds ahead of Saugatuck. Teams also competed for New Canaan/MRC in the boys and girls freshman novice 8+, and boys and girls junior varsity 8+.
