McMahon Bats Break Out Against Bunnell

Brien McMahon’s baseball team came out swinging in its season-opener Wednesday. The Senators pounded Bunnell, 16-6, and used an 11-run third inning to break the game open.

Ronnie Sherman had two hits, including a home run. Aleko Petrides went 3-for-3, scored four runs and had two RBIs, while Bryan Daniello had two hits, scored four runs, and had two RBIs. Eric Stenger added two hits, scored four runs and had four RBIs. Patrick Donahue got the victory.

“We swung the bats,’’ McMahon coach John Cross said. “It was a good start and it gives everybody some confidence.”

McMahon hosts Norwalk tonight at 7 in a battle of city rivals.
