Convent of the Sacred Heart meets King, and Greens Farms Academy hosts Hopkins as the Fairchester Athletic Association girls basketball tournament tips off Tuesday.
Both games begin at 5 p.m. King (13-8 overall, 5-4 in the league) is seeded fifth, while Convent of the Sacred Heart (8-8, 4-4) is seeded sixth. GFA (14-8, 6-3) is the No. 3 seed, and Hopkins (7-11, 5-3) is seeded fourth.
King comes into the tournament as one of the league's hottest teams. The Vikings have won seven straight games, including four consecutive FAA games. The Vikings beat CSH, 51-32, on Feb. 10 in the regular-season matchup.
Sacred Heart finished the regular season with a 51-32 win over St. Luke's last Thursday. The Tigers appear to have regrouped after losing three straight league games midway through the season.
Greens Farms lost to Hopkins, 38-32, in the final regular season game last Thursday. The Dragons won six of their first seven league games before losing to Hamden Hall and Hopkins in consecutive games last week. GFA has been one of the league's top defensive teams, allowing 39.4 points per game. The Dragons are 10-0 in games in which they've held opponents to fewer than 30 points.
The winners from Tuesday's contests advance to the semifinals Wednesday. The championship game is scheduled for Friday.
