FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. Fairfield County athletes will be among the first athletes to compete in the Summer Olympics, which begin with Fridays opening ceremonies in London.
Westons Nick LaCava begins Saturday while New Canaans Charlie Cole begins Monday.
Heres a look at the local Olympians and their scheduled days to compete:
Nick LaCava, Weston, rowing: He competes with the Lightweight Mens 4. The semifinals are Tuesday and the finals are July 2.
Charlie Cole, New Canaan, rowing: His first race with the Mens 4 is scheduled for Monday, with the semifinals scheduled for Aug. 2, and the final Aug. 4.
Rob Crane, Darien, sailing: He competes in the Laser race Monday. The races continue through Aug. 6, which is the scheduled date for the medal race.
Craig Kinsley, Fairfield, track and field: Kinsley will compete in the javelin qualifying Aug. 8, with the finals scheduled for Aug. 11.
