Heins Leads Senior Golf Tourney

Two-time defending champion Bobby Heins takes a two-shot lead into the final round of the Metropolitan Golf Association's Senior Championship at Rolling Hills Country Club in Wilton. The final round will be played Tuesday.

Heins, who plays out of Old Oaks in Purchase, N.Y., shot a two-under-par 68 in Monday's opening round. Ed Whitman of Tenafly, N.J., is two shots off the pace.

Among area players, Stamford's Joe Sommers (Winged Foot) shot 75, while Shorehaven's Jerry Courville shot 76. Peter Serafimoff of Millbrook in Greenwich also shot 76, along with Sean Garrity of Griffith Harris in Greenwich. The full first round results are available here.
