Greens Farms Rolls Over Chase

Sean Obi scored 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds while Dan Chase scored a team-high 18 points to lead Greens Farms Academy to a 67-41 rout of Chase Collegiate in a boys basketball game Tuesday in Westport.

GFA (5-3) is 3-0 since the break as the players work hard under first-year coach Doug Scott. Chase, a senior from Weston, added team highs in steals with five and assists with three while also grabbing eight rebounds.

Darien's Wills Rooney was a spark off of the bench with great defensive intensity and masterful feeds into Obi. Freshman Kam Mickens added to his rep as a lockdown defender as did Chris Morency, a senior from Norwalk.

The junior class was well represented with Eric Walsh running the point, and Brien Comey and Christian Papic scoring six baskets. Dan Hoffman and Will Pavlis shone as defensive stars, helping to limit Chase Collegiate to 16 points in the second half. Senior tri-captain CJ Smith busted through pressure and went to the rim for 10 points and assisted on others. Sophomore Hunter Eggers of Greenwich overcame illness and injury to score eight.
