Greens Farms Academy's girls basketball team won for the eighth time in nine games and its fourth straight Thursday with a 36-26 victory over Holy Child in a Fairchester Athletic Association game. GFA improved to 10-5 overall and 5-1 in the FAA, where it is tied with Hamden Hall for the league lead.
Stephanie Garofoli scored 19 points and grabbed 17 rebounds to lead GFA. Alexa Sullivan added six points and five rebounds, and Meighan Grady (four points) and Jenna Pittleman (three) also made offensive contributions.
GFA held Holy Child to 11 first-half points and focused on its transition defense, allowing just six fast-break points.
GFA is back in action Friday afternoon, hosting Harvey at 4:30 p.m.
