Greens Farms Girls Rout Wooster

Greens Farms Academy's girls basketball team defeated Wooster, 40-4, in a non-league game Saturday in Danbury. Stephanie Garofoli scored 12 points to lead GFA, which improved to 13-6.

Bridgette Foster and Hilary Shannon added six apiece for the Dragons. The team also turned in another sterling defensive effort, as Wooster became the fourth team this year to score fewer than 20 points. It was also the ninth time a team has scored fewer than 30 points. GFA also held Gunnery to four points earlier this season.

The victory sets the stage for a key Fairchester Athletic Association game on Wednesday. The Dragons host Hamden Hall at 4:30 in a showdown for first place in the FAA. Both teams bring 6-1 league records into the contest, which will likely determine the No. 1 seed for next week's FAA playoffs. GFA will honor its seniors prior to the game.
