WESTPORT, Conn. Greens Farms Academys boys soccer team battled Hamden Hall to a 1-1 tie Wednesday.
Junior Spencer Hartig (Riverside) scored an unassisted goal 20 minutes into the first half to give GFA the lead. Hamden Hall scored the equalizer nine minutes into the second half. Both teams continued to press for the winner, trading shots and corners until the final whistle. Junior goalkeeper Ryan Friend (Darien) made several tough saves to preserve the tie.
GFA, 3-4-1, hosts Fairchester Athletic Association rival St. Lukes on Tuesday.
