Free-Throw Contest Supports Program at Norwalk Y

The Norwalk YMCA will hold a free throw competition Friday from 6-9 p.m. The YMCA hopes to raise $3,000 in donations for a program run in partnership with the Allan Houston Legacy Foundation.

The Summer F.I.S.L.L. (Faith, Integriy, Sacrifice, Leadership, Legacy) program was developed by Houston, a former Knick who is now the team's assistant general manager. The seven-week series is designed to provide fun and relationship-building opportunities for fathers (or father figures) and their middle-school age boys and girls.

Contest participants can pledge money and shoot free throws. They can also make donations and have shots taken on their behalf. The program is run in conjunction with the Father's Day Weekend Family Fun Night.

Donations can be mailed to the Norwalk YMCA, 370 West Ave., Norwalk CT 06850. Contact the Norwalk Y at (203) 866-4425, ext. 339, for more information.
