Fciac Field Hockey Tournament Field Is Set

NORWALK, Conn. — The FCIAC field hockey tournament seedings are now set. Undefeated Darien High will be defending its league tournament crown as the No. 1 seed. Wilton, which held a halftime lead against Darien in their regular season game, will be the No. 2 seed. Norwalk High is the third seed, followed by Staples, Stamford, New Canaan, Fairfield Warde and Westhill.

New Canaan and Stamford finished in a tie with identical 8-4-1-0 records, but Stamford took the higher seed because of its regular season head-to-head win over New Canaan.

Ludlowe jumped into the tournament field with a 2-1 win over the Brien McMahon on Wednesday.

Westhill earned the eighth seed by virtue of a head-to-head regular season win over Greenwich.

The FCIAC quarterfinal games will all be held Saturday at Brien McMahon High School with times to be determined.  The up-to-date tournament lay out and results can be found by clicking this Main Street Connect weblink for the FCIAC Field Hockey Tournament grid.
