McMahon's Drew D'Antonio Named Lacrosse All-American

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. - Five of the six high school boys' lacrosse teams that made state finals this season were from Fairfield County and players from those squads are being recognized at a national level.

Fourteen players from seven Fairfield County high schools made the cut as Connecticut's representatives on the U.S. Lacrosse All-American First Team.

Class M state champion Darien features four First Team All-Americans, including three-time honoree Case Matheis, midfielders Henry West and Corey Eppley and defender Tony Britton. The four All-Americans were the most in the state for one school.

Class L state champion Fairfield Prep had three players honored, including midfielder Matt Brophy, defender Andrew Hatton and attacker Kevin Brown.

Midfielder Michael Mattson and attacker Nolan Stauffer of Class S champion Joel Barlow also were named First Team All-Americans.

New Canaan, the Class M runner-up and conference champion, had its goalie Tom Carey and defenseman Eric Perky recognized as All-Americans.

Attacker Sean Wilkinson of Class L runner-up Ridgefield also made the cut as an All-American.

Other honorees include attacker Drew D'Antonio of Brien McMahon (Norwalk) and attacker Chris Nugent of Wilton.
