Some sports fans say spring does not officially begin until the first pitch is thrown on baseball's opening day. If that is the case, spring starts Tuesday for the Fairchester Athletic Association. Greens Farms Academy, King School and St. Luke's all begin their regular season baseball schedules Tuesday.
St. Luke's varsity baseball travels to Rye Country Day at 4 p.m. for its first game. King varsity baseball will host GFA at 4:30. Brunswick School will host New Canaan High School for a baseball scrimmage.
King baseball finished the 2010 season at 10-9, GFA had a 9-9 record, Brunswick went 8-12 and St. Luke's hopes to improve upon a 1-11 season.
FAA boys and girls varsity lacrosse begins Thursday, March 31. FAA varsity softball starts its season Saturday, April 2.
