Everton U12s Win Regional Soccer Title

NORWALK, Conn. – The Everton America CT boys U12 regional team rounded off a fantastic fall season recently with two wins in the Connecticut Junior Soccer Association Premier League. Everton won the association’s Premier League Red Division, finishing 9-0 and allowing just three goals in nine games.

The team includes players from Norwalk, Weston, Stamford, Wilton, Darien, Fairfield and New Canaan.

Everton defeated Beachside, 3-0, and the CFC Gunners, 4-0, in its final two games to win the championship.

“A fantastic effort by the team and a great achievement for the boys to go through a league season undefeated," said coach John Davies. "These final two games demonstrated the development of our team and to record wins in both against such strong opposition shows just how confident our boys are at the moment. Scoring seven goals and recording two clean sheets is not an easy task, but credit goes to our boys for their efforts both defensively and offensively.”

The Premier League championship rounds off a successful season for the boys, who also finished as champions of the 2011 YMS Columbus Cup Tournament in Pennsylvania in October and as finalists at the Farmington Labor Day Tournament in September. The boys are also competing in the North East Elite Soccer League against some of the top teams in New York.

Norwalk-based Everton America CT is an official partner of the Everton Football Club. Currently, Everton is represented by 24 premier level boys and girls teams ranging from U10 to U18.
