FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. The Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference diving championships were postponed Wednesday because of the bad weather. The divers will compete Friday at Westhill High School in Stamford beginning at 4:30 p.m.
The league swimming championships are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Greenwich High School. Greenwich is the defending league champion. New Canaan, which won the championship meet in 2007, is the only team other than the Cardinals to capture league honors since 1971.
The delay in the diving sets up a scenario in which the league crown could be determined Friday. The Westhill/Stamford co-op team, Ridgefield, Darien and Staples are also expected to be among the top contenders.
