If you are a parent of a student interested in working in sports, there is a special sports career training camp taking place in New York to help get started. The event includes a competition to win an Apple iPad, and a lunch and learn at Mickey Mantle's in Central Park.
The Diamond Sports Big Apple Career Week will be offered July 25-30 for students interested in learning about how prepare for and secure a position in the sports industry. A small group of students will be offered a unique opportunity to meet senior industry executives and rising stars from ESPN, the NFL, NBA, MLB, New York Mets, Major League Baseball Productions, HBO Sports, Bloomberg Sports and more.
Presentations and workshops will be offered at Yankee Stadium, Citi Field, Madison Square Garden, Red Bull Arena, MLB Studios, SNY, the Yogi Berra Museum & Learning Center, NYU and Fordham University.
Students will learn about how to develop internships, education programs, career development, PR, marketing, sponsorship, production, digital media and more. The program will also include networking and receptions at Mickey Mantle's on Central Park, and guest appearances by media personalities.
To reserve one of the limited number of seats available in the Class of 2010, or for more information, visit the Diamond Sports Big Apple Career Week program website.
