Three teams from the Beachside Soccer Club will play in the US Youth Soccer Region 1 Championships Friday in Barboursville, W. Va. Beachside's 12-and-under, 15-and-under and 18-and-under teams will play their first games.
Beachside's 12u team plays at noon against a team from Delaware. The Beachside squad is coached by John Chiavaroli. The 15u team, coached by Pete Doneit of Stamford, plays at 10:40 a.m. against a squad from Pennsylvania. The 18u team, coached by Owen Finberg, played at 8 a.m. against a team from West Virginia.
The round robin phase continues through Sunday. The semifinals are Monday and championship games will be played on Tuesday. Beachside is a premier soccer club based in Westport.
