The quest for Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference championships begins Monday in baseball, softball and boys tennis, while playoffs also resume in girls lacrosse.
In baseball, top-seeded Staples hosts Westhill at 4 p.m. No. 3 Norwalk hosts St. Joseph, while No. 5 Fairfield Ludlowe visits No. 4 Wilton. Those games are also at 4 p.m. The winners advance to the semifinals Tuesday at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport.
In softball, fourth-seeded Darien hosts No. 5 Fairfield Warde while No. 6 Fairfield Ludlowe travels to No. 3 Trumbull. Those games are at 4 p.m. Winners advance to the semifinals Tuesday at Sacred Heart University.
The girls lacrosse semifinals are Monday at New Canaan's Dunning Field. Top-seeded Darien meets No. 4 Wilton at 7 p.m., while second-seeded New Canaan meets No. 3 Greenwich at 5:15 p.m. Winners advance to Friday's championship game.
Staples is the top seed in boys tennis, and hosts No. 8 Westhill at 4 p.m. Other matchups find No. 7 Darien at No. 2 Greenwich, No. 6 Ludlowe at No. 3 New Canaan and No. 5 Ridgefield at No. 4 Warde. Those matches begin at 4 p.m.
