STAMFORD, Conn. -- Former University of Connecticut basketball player Craig Austrie announced today that he is launching a number of new developmental programs geared towards developing some of the top guards and post players in the state.
Austrie has been running the exceptionally successful Craig Austries Basketball IQ Skills (http://www.craigaustrie.net/) developmental program out of the Stamford YMCA since January 2010. In addition to weekend specialized clinics and group sessions during the week, he will now be offering a 3-month, 6-month, and 12-month developmental program at the Stamford YMCA.
Austrie, the 2005 Connecticut Gatorade Player of the Year, will also be offering a limited number of more exclusive/ private home based or semi-private one on one sessions. The home sessions will also offer the option of 3, 6, or 12 month programs.
Due to the more exclusive nature and convenience, the home based program has a limited number of available slots, and it will be filled based upon a first-come, first-served basis with registration closing on Oct. 20.
I have been blessed to have had the opportunity to play for one of the greatest teams in college basketball, against top competitors in the Big East, and in the 2009 NCAA Final Four,'' Austrie said. "A big part of the success I have experienced was based upon my commitment to consistently practice and put in the time to improve all aspects of my game. My new programs will help lay the foundation for sustained growth and elite development through commitment and consistency."
