FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. Four divers from the Norwalk-based Next Generation team reached the finals in the recent YMCA National Championships in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Westons Liam Simmons finished fourth on the 1-meter board in the boys 12- and 13-year-old division. Michael Connelly of Fairfield finished seventh in the boys 14- and 15 1-meter. Fairfields Robert McCrory took fifth on the 1-meter and and sixth on the 3-meter in the 14- and 15-year-old age group, while Southburys Jessica Horn was seventh on the 3-meter and eighth on the 1-meter in the girls 16- to 21-year-old age group.
Other divers who represented Next Generation included Stamfords Declan Rowley, Westons Hannah Schroeder, Fairfields Kelsey Tague and Kevin Jiminiz-Cowell of New Haven. Next Generation trains out of the YMCA of Norwalk.
