Norwalk Students Go Glam for Fashion Show

Glitz and glamour were on parade at Norwalk High School's annual Fashion Show on Friday night. More than 250 people gathered to watch high schoolers strut down a red carpet runway. Senior guys and girls walked the runway in formal attire — prom dresses from A Step Ahead in Stamford and tuxes from Camillo's in Norwalk. Junior couples modeled casual clothes from “B” Chic and Bob’s Stores. Artistic Image Hair Salon in Norwalk donated hair and makeup services.

For the first time, the show was held at the Norwalk Inn on East Avenue. In previous years, it was held in the school's cafeteria. "The new venue was fantastic. It made the event even more glamorous than in the past," says Linda Dunsmore, a parent coordinator of the fashion show, which is sponsored by the Parents of Norwalk High.

The show raised $3,600 for the Post-Graduation Party, an alcohol- and drug-free party given for the graduating seniors by their parents. "It was the most profitable show in NHS fashion show history," says Dunsmore. The Post Graduation Party is held at an off-site location and runs after graduation from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. the next morning
