Susan Marks, incoming Superintendent, landed in Norwalk on Tuesday evening for a week long visit. Her first stop was last night's Board of Education meeting where she was an observer. Come July, her observing days will be over as she takes her seat at the BOE table. Before getting to business though, she needs to find a house-- one of the primary purposes of this visit. "We are looking to rent for a few months, initially." said Marks. Her husband, a teacher, will be accompanying her to Norwalk. He was unable to come on this visit because of a family emergency. Mark's younger daughter will start college in the fall and her older daughter works in Maryland, so it will be just the empty nesters in Norwalk. She said that her husband will take some time off, but may look for a job later. During her visit, Marks will be meeting with Board of Education members, adminstrators, and school staff. "I'd like to start getting out to the schools during this visit." The Daily Norwalk expects to interview her during this visit.
