Main Street Connect congratulates the Better School Bonanza winner: Brookside Elementary School. The Norwalk school will be awarded the $10,000 Big Thank-You Prize. Jefferson Elementary School, also in Norwalk, has won the $5,000 Runner-Up prize. The cash prizes will be awarded directly to the school's parent teacher organizations.
"Schools are at the heart of community," says Carll Tucker, founder and CEO of Main Street Connect, publisher of this and nine other community news sites in lower Fairfield County. "This was a way we could give back to the communities we cover."
From Oct. 15 to Nov. 15, Main Street Connect sponsored the Better Schools Bonanza, a promotion with cash prizes for local elementary schools' parent organizations. Schools competed for cash prizes by registering users on to Main Street Connect websites. More than 20 schools from across the region won $500 Thank-You prizes for registering at least 100 people.
