Brien McMahon Grads Accepted at 130 Colleges

Brien McMahon High School's Class of 2011 graduates have been accepted at 130 universities and colleges across the country in the fall. They have been accepted to colleges as nearby as Norwalk Community College and as far away as the University of California, Berkeley.   Many will attend state schools, mainly in the Northeast and along the Eastern seaboard, though some have been accepted state universities farther west, in Michigan, Colorado and Arizona. They have been admitted to several elite colleges and universities, including Wesleyan University, Cornell University, Barnard College, Colgate University, Johns Hopkins University and Fairfield University.

Several students opted for to apply to specialty colleges. Graduate have been accepted to music colleges like Westminster Choir College, Manhattan School of Music, The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music and the New England Conservatory.  Other students were admitted to colleges that specialize in art and design, such as Pratt Institute, the Fashion Institute of Technology, the School of Visual Arts and Savannah College of Art and Design. Several technical colleges also made the list, including Florida Institute of Technology, Rochester Institute of Technology, Georgia Institute of Technology and Lincoln Technical Institute.
