Norwalk Community College will host its annual, daylong Academic Festival on April 7. The festival, called The American Metamorphosis, will bring together students, faculty, NCC staff members and the community, to talk with internationally-renowned scholars.Together, they'll analyze the problems and possibilities of modern society. The festival is billed as a salute to interdisciplinary study and the thriving intellectual life of the college and community.
Author, essayist, and Columbia University professor Andrew Delbanco is the keynote speaker. He will discuss Metamorphosis in America: The Dream. Seating is by ticket only. To obtain a free ticket, call 203-857-7002.
Delbanco has written extensively on American history and culture, and in 2001 was named Americas Best Social Critic by Time magazine. He is the Julian Clarence Levi Professor in the Humanities and the Director of the American Studies Program at Columbia University. Admission to the Festival is free.
