NORWALK, Conn. — Norwalk High students were greeted Monday morning by a huge array of flags on the lawn to commemorate those who died in the Sept. 11 terror attacks.
Norwalk High seniors Colin Baker and Bobby Gummer installed the American flags outside the school Monday morning, one for each person who died that day. They started working at 4 a.m. to get the project done with 2,996 flags.
The 9-11 project was part of their work for Project Explore, an independent study program where NHS seniors work with a mentor to design their own course of study.
