Zillow Inc., the company that provides online listings of homes for sale, had a strong debut on the NASDAQ stock market on July 20.
Trading under the symbol Z, Zillow set an opening price of $20 for its stock. Shares rose to a high of $60 during the day and settled at $35.77.
Zillow is a real estate database founded in 2005 by Rich Barton and Lloyd Frink, former Microsoft executives and founders of Microsoft spin-off, Expedia. The site has a feature called the "Zestimate," which buyers and sellers can use to appraise property values based on undisclosed factors.
